Our Founder
Shukria Dellawar
Shukria Dellawar has made significant contributions in various fields. As the Founder and President of Lotus Anchor LLC, she leads a consulting firm that specializes in projects aimed at conflict prevention and peacebuilding.
Prior to her current role, Shukria served as the Director of the Prevention and Protection Working Group (PPWG) at FCNL from 2018 to 2022. During her tenure, she played a crucial role in advocating for the prevention of mass atrocities and genocide. Under her leadership, the PPWG achieved remarkable milestones by successfully championing two groundbreaking legislative initiatives: the Elie Wiesel Genocide and Atrocities Prevention Act and the Global Fragility Act.
Shukria has also served in the development and defense sectors, advocating for women's empowerment, and conducted political and cultural analysis. She has testified before Congress as a subject matter expert in multiple briefings and has led briefings for the administration on different conflicts, complex peace and security challenges.
Shukria holds both a B.A. and M.S. in Conflict Analysis & Resolution from George Mason University's Carter School for Peace. Her fluency in English, Dari, Pashto, and Urdu/Hindi enables her to effectively communicate across diverse cultural and linguistic boundaries.
Furthermore, Shukria's passion for writing and the arts shines through in her endeavors. She has authored several opinion editorials for Western media, addressing critical peace and security issues. In addition to her intellectual pursuits, she is a passionate artist and has published a book of poems titled "The Conversation."
