Shukria Dellawar

Shukria Dellawar has made significant contributions in various fields. As the Founder and President of Lotus Anchor LLC, she leads a consulting firm that specializes in projects aimed at conflict prevention and peacebuilding.

Prior to her current role, Shukria served as the Director of the Prevention and Protection Working Group (PPWG) at FCNL from 2018 to 2022. During her tenure, she played a crucial role in advocating for the prevention of mass atrocities and genocide. Under her leadership, the PPWG achieved remarkable milestones by successfully championing two groundbreaking legislative initiatives: the Elie Wiesel Genocide and Atrocities Prevention Act and the Global Fragility Act.

Shukria has also served in the development and defense sectors, advocating for women's empowerment, and conducted political and cultural analysis. She has testified before Congress as a subject matter expert in multiple briefings and has led briefings for the administration on different conflicts, complex peace and security challenges.

Shukria holds both a B.A. and M.S. in Conflict Analysis & Resolution from George Mason University's Carter School for Peace. Her fluency in English, Dari, Pashto, and Urdu/Hindi enables her to effectively communicate across diverse cultural and linguistic boundaries.

Furthermore, Shukria's passion for writing and the arts shines through in her endeavors. She has authored several opinion editorials for Western media, addressing critical peace and security issues. In addition to her intellectual pursuits, she is a passionate artist and has published a book of poems titled "The Conversation."

Dr. Mahrukh Mustansar

Dr. Mahrukh Mustansar is an esteemed Counter Violent Extremism expert and Peace Psychologist. She has expertise in policy making in CVE, analyzing conflicts and peacebuilding through a psychological and social sciences lens. She is a prominent board member in two renowned organizations: the American Psychological Association (APA) and the International Network of Peace Psychologists (INPP).

Dr. Mustansar is a valued member and reviewer of the American Psychological Association Division 48, the Society for the Study of Peace, Conflict, and Violence: Peace Psychology Division, and APA Division 9, the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues. Her academic achievements include a Bachelor's in Journalism, a Master's in Applied Psychology, and M.Phil. Peace and Conflict Studies with a concentration on Post-conflict Mental Health Rehabilitation. Building upon her foundation, she pursued a Doctorate of Philosophy in Peace and Conflict Studies, specializing in Analysis of the Conflict for Peacebuilding Measures. Her doctoral dissertation, "The Psychology of Extremism: Understanding the Polarity of Fundamentalism and Modernism," brilliantly contextualized Peace and Conflict Studies with Psychology, with a recommendation for counter-violent extremism policy that she conducted at the prestigious National Defense University Islamabad, Pakistan.

Driven by her passion for understanding the nature of conflict, conflict resolution, and peace-related endeavors, Dr. Mustansar further honed her expertise by completing post-doctoral professional training certificates in various vital areas that can help understand policy-making and conflicts at individual, sub-state, and state levels. The trainings include:

  • The Integration of Spirituality in Psychotherapy from the University of Maryland, USA.
  • The Psychology of Emotions: Embodied Cognitions (to mainly understand decision-making abilities) from the University of Cambridge, UK.
  • U.S. Public, Social, Fiscal, Foreign and Mental Health Policies (to have a strong understanding of policy-making) from Harvard University, USA.

Besides her academic accomplishments, Dr. Mustansar is a talented author with two published poetry books, "Resonance of the Souls" and "The Center," both available globally. Her influence extends beyond literature, as she has contributed extensively to the academic community through numerous research articles and web publications, primarily focused on Peacebuilding, Conflict management, and Social psychology. She is not only a poetess but also an artist, a hobbyist painter. Her joy lies in painting and poetry, using art as a medium to portray the concept of peacebuilding. She won numerous National awards in parliamentary debates and declamations. She is a prominent media speaker as well.

By utilizing her expertise in Socio-political Psychology, Peace Studies, and Conflict Resolution and her persistent dedication to consultancy work, she continues to advocate for peace. Dr. Mustansar's unwavering dedication to promoting peace and psychological well-being is felt globally.
